The SV Darmstadt 98 fan scene is loyal, lively, heterogeneous and always good for a surprise. The Lilies are proud of their fan scene and are happy about every Lilie fan from near and far. Despite the club’s regional focus, it is also enjoying increasing national recognition. The aim of the subordinate pages is to introduce the various fan clubs and institutions surrounding SV 98.

The History of our Fan Scene

Even in the old stadium at the Böllenfalltor, all facets of fan culture developed together and alongside each other. Starting from the back straight, which was home to the loudest Lilies fans in the 70s and 80s and attracted attention with impressive flags and snippets of choreographies, the fans looked for new places in the stadium in SV 98’s less glory days.

This resulted in the situation of two fan blocks in the main stand in the 2000s: At the northern end, the A block – characterized by a British support style and staffed by more experienced fans. At the southern end the F-Block – home of the first ultra groups and therefore emulating a southern style. Meanwhile, in the standing room there were still classic fan clubs, costumes, punks and the classic football-watching lily fan.

The bankruptcy times brought all these different trends closely together despite their differences and formed the great support that SV 98 still receives from its fans today. Now just rearranged: The ultra- and support-oriented fans have found their home in the south stand, a large part of the old A-block sits or stands today in the new A-block on the back straight, and many of them still have many of them in the lower tier in their standing areas long-time back straight fans from before. New organisational forms and groups are also emerging in the north and main stands, which primarily have the support of the SVD in mind.
