3 of 4 | Fan team starts preparations

We reminisce and look at our last away appearances at 1. FC Nürnberg, which were successful in three out of four cases. We also provide you with our weekly section „Lilies across the Board“ with all information about our fan team, the U21 and our eFootball players.

+++ Good Memories of Nürnberg +++

The trip to Nürnberg? It has often been worth it for Lily fans in the past. SV Darmstadt 98 has won three of the last four duels in the Max Morlock Stadium against 1. FC Nürnberg. However, all of the encounters were competitive games. In the 2019/20 season, the South Hesse team won 2-1 away – Dario Dumic scored the decisive goal with a long-range shot in the 89th minute. The winning goal came even later in the 2020/21 season. It was Nicolai Rapp who headed SV 98 to a 3-2 away win in the third minute of stoppage time. In the 2022/23 Bundesliga promotion season – the last meeting with FCN at the Max Morlock Stadium – the Lilies won 1-0 with an own goal from the hosts. Feel free to get the next away threesome in Nuremberg on Friday evening (January 31st/6:30pm), Lilien!

+++ eFootballer before duel with Bayern +++

Pass Mainz 05! That was the goal of the eFootball players from SV Darmstadt 98 on the last matchday in the Virtual Bundesliga (VBL). A plan that didn’t work, however. The eLilien had to admit defeat to the Rheinhessen – the Darmstadt team lost 2:4 in the doubles, plus there was a 4:4 and a 3:6 defeat in the two singles games. The SV 98 eFootballers are currently in seventh place in the VBL table and are already looking at the next challenge. On the virtual pitch, the South Hesse team will duel with FC Bayern Munich, who are in second place, on Thursday (January 30th/7pm). The game can be viewed on our Livestream on the Twitch-Channel SV 98. Or you can stop by the gaming lounge in the Loop5 shopping center in Weiterstadt.

+++ Happy Birthday, Fabio! +++

“We are pleased that Fabio has the opportunity to gain match practice at third division level,” said Paul Fernie about the loan of Fabio Torsiello, which was announced last week. The attacker will hunt for goals for SpVgg Unterhaching until the summer and try to collect as much playing time as possible. And last weekend, the 19-year-old celebrated his debut in the third division. In his new club’s 3-1 defeat against FC Ingolstadt, he was both in the starting line-up and on the field for the entire game. Next Sunday (February 2nd) Torsiello will celebrate his 20th birthday. We warmly congratulate you and wish you much success in Unterhaching, Fabio!
