5th Clean-Up Day with Krombacher: Together for our environment!
Garbage that is carelessly thrown away is a major problem for our environment. This is exactly why the 5th Clean-Up Day of SV Darmstadt 98 and the Krombacher Brewery took place last Sunday (September 29th). Together with 100 Lily fans, who pitched in impressively and, above all, extremely diligently, the Böllenfalltor and the region around it as well as the homestead settlement were cleared of waste and rubbish.
Equipped with gloves and grippers, the helpers set off and roamed the stadium area. In addition, other participants set out in the homestead settlement and on the Lichtwiese to clear these areas of rubbish and rubbish. Bags of plastic, packaging waste, cigarette butts, etc. were collected. The EAD Darmstadt city cleaning department then took care of the proper disposal.
“Our intention since the first clean-up campaign has been to create more awareness of the respectful treatment of nature and to draw attention to the problem of pollution caused by discarded or deliberately dumped garbage,” explains Jonas Baum, sponsoring manager at the Krombacher Brewery , about the background of the joint Clean-Up Day. He continues: “Clean-Up Day leaves an environment free of rubbish, hopefully for a long time. We are very pleased that so many lily fans have come together again to collect rubbish together and that this campaign has been successfully implemented for the fifth time within the partnership, which has now lasted four years. A big thank you to all the helpers who contributed to the success of this campaign.”
Florian Holzbrecher, Head of Events & CSR at SV Darmstadt 98: “We are overwhelmed by how many of our fans were there last Sunday. It was impressive to see how motivated they were to collect garbage and ensure that we were able to celebrate a record number of participants. A big thank you goes to the Krombacher Brewery, who organised the cozy part in the Lilienschänke.”
Because after the work was done and as a thank you for their great effort, Krombacher invited all participants to eat together and watch the second division in the Lilienschänke. As a special highlight, Clemens Riedel, Fabian Nürnberger and Marco Thiede also stopped by the get-together. The three Lilien professionals were available for photo and autograph requests, but also for lively conversations.
SV Darmstadt 98 and Krombacher would like to thank all participants for the remarkable effort and the great afternoon.
