6. Clean-Up Day with Krombacher: For a clean Bölle!
We Lilies – Together for Nature Conservation! This was the motto of the 6th Clean-Up Day organised by SV Darmstadt 98 and the Krombacher Brewery last Sunday (May 4). Because carelessly discarded garbage, waste, and litter pose a major environmental problem, around 90 Lilies fans gathered in front of the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor. Together, they set out to keep the Bölle and the surrounding region clean.
The red garbage bags piled up, and the mountain of trash in front of the SV 98 headquarters grew ever larger on Sunday afternoon. The hard-working volunteers who participated in Clean-Up Day once again performed an impressive job this year. Equipped with gloves, garbage bags, and grabbers, they roamed the area around the stadium. They collected bags of plastic, packaging waste, cigarette butts, and other debris. Participants even found a carelessly discarded suitcase and a shopping cart. The Darmstadt City Cleaning Service then took care of proper disposal.
Patricia Heuwerth, Events & CSR at SV Darmstadt 98: „We are proud that we were able to mobilise so many Lilien fans for the sixth edition of Clean-Up Day. With their great motivation and overwhelming hard work, our fans once again ensured that Clean-Up Day was a success – and together we were able to keep the stadium area clean again. We would like to thank all participants and are already looking forward to further events. A big thank you also goes to the Krombacher Brewery, which organised the relaxed part of the event at the Lilienschänke.“
After the work was done, and as a thank you for their tireless efforts, Krombacher invited all participants to the Lilienschänke for a meal and a chance to watch second-division football. As a special highlight, Kai Klefisch, Jean-Paul Boëtius, and Sergio Lopez also stopped by the get-together. The three Lilien professionals were available for photo and autograph requests, but also for stimulating conversations.
SV Darmstadt 98 and Krombacher would like to thank all participants for their remarkable efforts and the great afternoon at Bölle.
