A community golf tournament
When bunker shots meet relationship building in the Rhine-Main area, and relationship building alternates with bogeys, it's clear: SV Darmstadt 98 invites you to play golf. For the second time, the club organised the Lilien Golf Tournament for its partners and sponsors at the Gernsheim Golf Resort. The tournament was characterised not only by athletic achievement, but above all by a sense of community.
Networking on the Green
Even before the official start of the tournament, the expectant yet relaxed atmosphere was palpable. Players arrived in time and tuned into the day together as they prepared. Finally, at 1pm, the shotgun start signaled, a special moment as all participants began play simultaneously from different holes. This joint starting signal also underscored the beginning of what the day was all about: playing golf together and creating a shared experience.
During the round it quickly became apparent that the tournament was more than just a sporting competition. Of course there were powerful shots, precise putts and exciting game situations, but just as important were the many conversations between the players, the mutual cheering and the joy of successful moments. Time and again it was noticeable that golf brings people together and encourages interaction, regardless of ability or age. On the course there was laughter and teasing, technique was honed and every setback was taken with humour. It was precisely this mixture of sporting ambition and relaxed conviviality that made the day so special for many. After around five hours on the golf course, all participants met at the clubhouse at around 6.30pm. The sporting achievement, which spanned the entire day, was honoured with loud applause from all participants.
"Summary of the day is totally positive"
After the awards ceremony, partners and sponsors enjoyed a shared meal, rounding off the sporting part of the day. In a relaxed atmosphere, the rounds were reviewed, highlights recounted, and anecdotes shared. Many also took the opportunity to make new contacts and catch up with old acquaintances. Thus, the evening became just as important a part of the tournament as the actual game on the course. Martin Kowaleski, Managing Director of Marketing & Sales at SV 98, summed it up as follows: „We found great sponsors who supported us in organising this wonderful tournament.“ Special thanks therefore go to our partners Entega AG, FFR GmbH, Effycor GmbH, and TFM, who made this special sponsored tournament possible.“ His conclusion: „The summary of the day is totally positive.“
