Academy training: “Passing on our knowledge”
Last Monday (November 4th), the SV Darmstadt youth performance center invited 98 trainers from the region to further training. The aim of the event was to sustainably promote and improve children's football. Under the leadership of Björn Kopper (Head of Academy) and Björn Müller (Sporting Director of Academy), the focus was on one central concern: „Passing on our knowledge and giving trainers incentives for child-friendly training.“
The training focused on the basics of youth football, the age groups U9 to U12. Topics such as creativity, speed of action and courage formed the core points of the program – with a clear goal: to give the children the joy of play. Michael Fischer, coordinator for the age range U10 to U14, and Bogdan Ficut, coach of the U11 team at SV 98, organised the evening with a presentation. The lecture concluded with an open discussion in which around 70 participants enthusiastically exchanged their impressions and ideas with each other.
In the future, the SV 98 academy is also planning to hold further training courses every six months in order to regularly provide coaches with new ideas and insights in children’s and youth football. “A big compliment to all the coaches who invest their time after a long day at work to further their education – with the aim of providing good training for their players in the club,” said Björn Müller, looking at the successful evening .
