Transfer News: Hornby moves to Wolfsburg
Fraser Hornby's time at Darmstadt 98 comes to an end after three years. The Scottish attacking midfielder is moving to VfL Wolfsburg. Both clubs have agreed to keep the transfer fee confidential.
SV 98 officially said goodbye to 15 players on Sunday (May 12) ahead of the home game against TSG Hoffenheim. Morten Behrens, Thomas Isherwood, Emir Karic, Jannik Müller, Braydon Manu, Fabian Schnellhardt, Julian Justvan, Mathias Honsak, Klaus Gjasula, Bartol Franjic, Aaron Seydel, Luca Pfeiffer, Gerrit Holtmann, Tim Skarke and Max Wendt were received in the sold-out Merck Stadium a loud and fitting farewell.
Paul Fernie: “We would like to thank all the players for the commitment that each and every one of them showed during their time at SV 98. For one or the other, we continue to think about what role it could play in our considerations for the future. Torsten and I are in very close communication after I was able to get my own impression of these players over the past few weeks.“
In addition to the players mentioned, physiotherapist Sebastian Pommer was also officially farewelled. Sebastian Polter was unable to be present due to illness, and Henry-Jon Crosthwaite and John Peter Sesay were also absent on Sunday. All three will also receive recognition from SV 98.
