Bölle Bande: 3rd Light Run in the Stadium
Around 50 members of the Bölle Gang and their parents met on Wednesday (November 5th) at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor to participate in the 3rd Bölle Gang Lantern Run. Instead of the four floodlights, the youngest fans' creatively crafted Lilies lanterns illuminated the early Wednesday evening.
Shortly after the sun dipped behind the stadium, numerous participants, both young and old, gathered outside to experience the 3rd Lantern Run in a special evening atmosphere. The children were greeted by the two professional goalkeepers, Alexander Brunst and Benedikt Börner, who had small goody bags and autographed cards ready for everyone.
The approximately 120 participants then set off through the stadium – a luminous procession accompanied by the glow of colourful lanterns. The route led through the pitch, from the main stand, along the north and opposite stands, and on to the south stand.
At each stand, the procession paused briefly to sing traditional Darmstadt 98 songs together. Three volunteer members accompanied the young singers, their voices adding to the cheerful atmosphere – a heartfelt thank you to them!
… To conclude the evening, the Bölle Gang enjoyed children’s punch and St. Nicholas Day treats, while the adults rounded off the evening with mulled wine.
Christmas donations for a good cause
This year, the event once again focused on the idea of sharing and helping. The members of the Bölle Bande enthusiastically collected lovingly packed Christmas shoeboxes, which will then be distributed to disadvantaged children in cooperation with Round Table Darmstadt.
