Bölle Gang lights up the stadium
Shortly after St. Martin's Day last Monday (November 11th), a procession of around 80 participants came together during the international break to complete the 2nd Bölle Bande Light Run. Together with their families, the children of the Bölle Gang made sure that the stands in the Merck Stadium at the Böllenfalltor were lit up with self-made Lily lanterns this Thursday evening (November 14th).
A special surprise awaited the children right at the beginning: The Lilien players Fynn Lakenmacher and Guille Bueno welcomed the participants, handed out autographs, fulfilled all photo requests and gave the children warm SV98 winter hats in the cold season. With their welcome, the boys put smiles on their faces and a good atmosphere right from the start.
After this successful surprise, the procession moved from the main stand to the north stand and over the back straight to the south stand – and then, illuminated by the Lily lanterns, it went back across the interior to the meeting point at the Lily kiosk. Led by five members of the Lilien Choir, whose vocal support we would like to thank again at this point, five well-known Lilien songs were heard in the respective stands, which created atmospheric moments at the Bölle. The climax of the singing took place at the end in the south stand, where the participants sang “The Sun Shines” together.
After the atmospheric tour, the adults fortified themselves with mulled wine, while the children were rewarded with children’s punch and freshly baked cookies. This meant everyone could look back on the evening together and then head home satisfied.
From children for children
This year the light run once again served a good cause: support for disadvantaged children in Eastern Europe – organised by the Round Table Darmstadt – was collected using donation boxes under the motto “From children for children”. We thank you again for your support!
The Light Run has already established itself as an integral part of the Bölle Gang’s calendar and combines the Lilien family’s sense of community with their commitment to a good cause. We are already looking forward to next year!
