Benedikt Börner completes the Lilies‘ goalkeeping team: The 19-year-old keeper comes to SV 98 from the VfL Wolfsburg youth team. The Munich native signed the first professional contract of his career with the South Hesse club.

Börner initially played in the youth system for FC Ingolstadt before joining VfL Wolfsburg’s youth academy in the summer of 2020. The goalkeeper played twelve matches for the Wolves‘ U19 team in the youth league last season and was between the posts in three matches in the DFB Cup. He also guarded the Lower Saxony side’s goal in the 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the round of 16 of the U19 championship.

The German Football League (DFL) announced the exact times for the remaining matchdays on Friday afternoon (March 27). The home game on matchday 31 against SV Elversberg will take place on Saturday evening (April 25) at 8:30pm.
