Youngsters are looking forward to the start of the Hessenliga season
The transition area between the youth academy and the professional team is extremely important and has increased significantly in recent years. That's exactly why SV Darmstadt 98 decided and implemented the introduction of a U21. The Lilien's U21 team will now compete in the Hessenliga and will play their first competitive game next Sunday (July 28th). Before the team's season starts, we look together with Björn Müller (sports director of the youth management center) and head coach Daniel Petrowsky at the importance of the team for youth work at SV 98, the goals and the squad.
SV 98 agrees on US cooperation: collaboration with San Antonio FC
The two clubs SV Darmstadt 98 and San Antonio FC from Darmstadt’s US sister city of San Antonio will work more closely together in the future. This is the aim of a cooperation agreement signed on Tuesday (July 23rd) between the Lilies and Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E), the operating company of San Antonio FC, was closed. The cooperation was expressly welcomed by Darmstadt’s Mayor Hanno Benz and San Antonio’s Mayor Ron Nirenberg, who were also on site on Tuesday, and supported by signing a “Letter of Support”.

SV Darmstadt 98's first away game in the new 2024/25 second division season will take place in Paderborn: On the second matchday, the Lilies will be playing in the Home Deluxe Arena at SCP on Sunday (11/08 at 1.30pm). 3 to 7: The next match days are scheduled!
The German Football League (DFL) officially scheduled match days 3 to 7 of the 2024/25 second division season on Thursday afternoon (July 18). During this period, the Lilies will play three times on a Saturday, as well as a Friday evening and a Sunday game.
Training camp of the top talent team ends
The professionals are still in training camp, the top talent team has already mastered theirs: For four days, the highest substructure of the youth performance center (NLZ) in Tauberbischofsheim laid the foundation for the upcoming Hessenliga season.
Mammoth Match against Saarbrücken
SV 98 lost the friendly match in Herxheim against 1. FC Saarbrücken 1:3 (1:2 after 45 minutes, 1:2 after 90). The total duration at 30 degrees was 120 minutes, which was divided into 45, 45 and 30 minutes. In a way, the encounter marked the sporting conclusion of the Lilies' training camp before they head back to Darmstadt on Sunday.

Christoph Klarer is moving to Birmingham City FC with immediate effect. In consultation with SV Darmstadt 98, the central defender had already left the Lilien's training camp in Herxheim early on Thursday in order to clarify final formalities and complete medical examinations in England. Both clubs have agreed not to disclose the terms of the transfer.
