The U21 international match at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor was a complete success. On Tuesday evening (March 25), the German junior team deservedly defeated Spain – one of the top favorites for this summer's U21 European Championship title – 3-1. Lilien full-back Sergio Lopez also spoke about how he made the most of the international break. He further emphasised the team's positive mood and training mentality. The German Football League (DFL) announced the exact schedule for second division matchdays 31, 32, and 33 on Thursday (March 20). The Lilies will play away at Preußen Münster on Saturday afternoon, followed by SV 98's home game against Hamburger SV, also on Saturday afternoon. For the penultimate matchday, the Lilies will travel to Kaiserslautern on Sunday. The final matchday always takes place on a Sunday at 3:30pm.

Rüdiger Fritsch will not run for re-election in the upcoming presidential election. Fritsch's term on the executive board, which he has served on since 2008 and as club president since 2012, will thus end in October 2025 after 17 years. Markus Pfitzner, one of the current vice presidents, will run for president and face the vote of the members together with Anne Baumann, Volker Harr, and a full team.
