Clear victory for the U21 against SV Steinbach
The SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team shot the disappointment of their recent matches away on Saturday (May 17): With a decisive 7-0 home victory in the LOTTO Hessenliga against SV Steinbach, the team celebrated a thoroughly successful performance. You can read the match report here.
Confident appearance
From the start, the Lilies were focused and controlled, dominating the game with plenty of possession and numerous scoring opportunities. In the 20th minute, the moment finally arrived when Schlosser made it 1-0 for the Lilies. At a crucial psychological moment just before halftime, Makridis doubled the lead with a penalty.
Immediately after the restart, Schlosser made it 3-0 again – and from that moment on, SV Steinbach couldn’t find their way back into the game. The Lilies, on the other hand, remained consistent, never stopped playing football, and confidently increased the score to a final score of 7-0 (58th and 60th minutes: Makridis, 75th: Kuhlmann, 78th: Klappich).
With this decisive victory, SVD maintains sixth place in the Hessenliga. Unlike the first team, the U21 team still has two matches to play. Starting away on Sunday (25.05/3pm) against the second team of TSV Steinbach Haiger.
It was a good performance from my boys and we are very happy that we can finally celebrate a victory after the last few games.
Line Up: Rohde – Arania (Görtler, 63), Pfister, Crößmann, Arnold – Grbić (Kunstmann, 70), Ballmert, Held (Basic, 70), Schlosser (Kuhlmann, 63) – Makridis, Baier (Klappich, 58).
