ENTEGA extends sponsorship contract with the Lilies until 2028

The green energy and telecommunications service provider ENTEGA remains an important supporter of SV Darmstadt 98 and has extended the sponsorship contract with the Lilies. The new contract with the premium partner runs from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2028.

„Our company has been supporting the Lilien for over 60 years in good and bad times because we are rooted in the region and are therefore also involved in supporting sports. SV Darmstadt 98 is a crowd puller that promotes a sense of community in the region and „That’s entirely in our spirit,“ says the chairwoman of the ENTEGA board, Dr. Marie Luise Wolff.

Lilien President Rüdiger Fritsch: „The ENTEGA has been closely linked to the Lilies for decades and is a very important cooperation partner, especially in the social sector. We greatly appreciate this loyalty. We are very pleased that the trusting partnership with ENTEGA is also will continue to exist in the future.“

Both partners have agreed not to disclose financial details.

According to the sponsorship agreement, promoting sustainability is a central concern of the partnership. The focus is also on continuing the corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnership “Under the Sign of the Lilies” and the climate partnership.

With the social campaign “Under the Sign of the Lily” ENTEGA supports numerous projects in Darmstadt and southern Hesse. Part of the climate partnership includes, among other things, an internet-based climate check, which aims to analyze and further reduce the club’s carbon footprint.

As part of the climate partnership, it was agreed to jointly organize a car-free match day and to encourage fans to come to the stadium at Böllenfalltor by tram, bicycle or on foot. In addition, the “ENTEGA Lilien carpooling portal” will be advertised, where carpooling to away games can be found throughout the season.

At SV 98, the topic of sustainability is also playing an increasingly important role. The cooperation with ENTEGA also makes a decisive contribution here. The largest photovoltaic system in Darmstadt, which was implemented by an ENTEGA subsidiary, recently went into operation on the roofs of the stands at the Merck Stadium. The photovoltaic system is almost as big as the lawn. The SV 98 uses the green electricity that the system produces directly in the stadium.

Disappointment & pride

Darmstadt's 2-1 defeat at Karlsruher SC also ended any remaining theoretical hopes the South Hessian club had of finishing the season in the top three. The loss at the Wildpark stadium served somewhat as a symbol for the past few weeks, during which SV 98 had only managed one point from five matches since the international break in March. Following the game on Sunday afternoon, the Darmstadt players addressed the assembled media representatives with mixed feelings.
