Fan information about the BVB game

On Saturday afternoon (May 18th/3:30pm) SV Darmstadt 98 will be visiting Borussia Dortmund. You can find all the important information for your visit to the Signal Iduna Park stadium here.

Arrival / Parking

By car, bus, nine-seater:

  • From the north: A1 → Dortmund-Unna intersection → A44/B1 → Dortmund
  • From the east: A2 → Dortmund-Nordost junction → B236 → Schwerte → B1 → Dortmund
  • From the south: A45 → Dortmund-Süd junction → B54 → Dortmund
  • From the west: A40/B1 → Dortmund
    There are numerous paid parking options available around the Signal-Iduna-Park and the Westfalenhallen (see gray hatched areas on the attached map).

Parking areas E1 to E3 are intended for lily fans. Parking fees are €30 for buses and €8 for cars; vans weighing 2.8 tons or more pay €20.

Address for navigation devices: Remydamm, 44139 Dortmund. There are also additional paid parking spaces on the university premises (Otto-Hahn-Straße). From here a shuttle bus runs to the stadium and back again at the end of the game.

Train/public transport:

Important: In order to be able to use the admission ticket as a public transport ticket (combined ticket), such a ticket must be downloaded in advance. This is possible from Thursday, May 16, 2024, at 12 p.m. via this link.

ICE connection from the east (Berlin, Wolfsburg, Hanover, Bielefeld) and south (Mainz, Frankfurt, Stuttgart, Nuremberg and Munich). IC connection from the north (Hamburg and Bremen) every hour. From the main station you can either take the regional train to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK station or take the subway to Westfalenhalle/Stadion.

By tram:

Stadtbahn lines U45, U42 and U46: The most important tram line in the direction of SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is the U45 (Fredenbaum – Hbf – Westfalenhallen), which runs at least every five minutes between the stops from around three hours before the start of the game and up to 90 minutes after the end of the game. SIGNAL IDUNA PARK is also easy to reach with the light rail lines U42 (towards Hombruch) and U46 (towards Westfalenhallen). The closest stops to SIGNAL IDUNA PARK are “Theodor-Fliedner-Heim” (U42) and “Westfalenhallen” (U46).

With bus lines 450, 452 and 448:

Bus route 450 will be significantly strengthened with additional vehicles between Kirchhörde and Westfalenhallen. There are also two additional buses on line 453 (“Löschteich-E-Wagen”) from Schüren/Aplerbeck to the Westfalenhallen stop and an additional E-car on line 448 from the Barop car park towards Kruckel.

Stadium

  • There is a permanent ban on glass bottles in the vicinity of the stadium.
  • The stadium opens 2.5 hours before the start of the game, i.e. at 1 p.m.
  • There will NOT be a box office on Saturday.
  • Blocks 8, 60 and 61 (standing) in the lower tier of the north stand and 52, 55, 56, 58 and 59 (seated) in the upper tier are the guest blocks.
  • It is possible to hand in bags and backpacks that are larger than DIN A4 at the “guest drop-off points” for a price of €0.50. These are located on the one hand opposite the guest entrance on the north side of the stadium and on the other hand on the turn path next to the Rote Erde stadium. After the end of the game, the “guest drop-off points” will be open for 30 minutes so that dropped off bags can be picked up.
  • Since the 2019/2020 season, some of the folders have been equipped with a so-called “body flag”. In this way, the security service supports the paramedics deployed in the event of a possible medical emergency in the standing stands, including in the guest block. In the future, the body flag will be part of the security service’s equipment on the forecourt and at the entrances, which will provide paramedics with orientation to the scene if necessary.
  • There is no alcohol limit in Signal Iduna Park. However, the Borussia Dortmund security service reserves the right to refuse entry to guests who are obviously drunk.
  • The entrances and exits within the guest blocks must be kept clear.
  • Payments in the guest area can only be made cashless. It is also still possible to purchase a “stadium cover” with which cashless payments can be made. From the 60th minute onwards, the remaining balance can be paid out at the designated unloading stations.

Fan paraphernalia The following fan utensils are permitted for away fans:

  • Megaphone (may not be used to encourage criminal offenses, insults or against measures taken by security services or the police)
  • Double holder (with a stick length of max. 2m and a diameter of 3cm)
  • Flags (with a stick length of max. 2m and a diameter of 3cm)
  • Swivel flags (with a telescopic pole or a length of up to 2m)
  • Fence flags (if space is available)
  • Drums (open and visible at the bottom – only in the guest standing area!)
  • Plastic tubes are only permitted in conjunction with flags and may not be used to build flag structures or similar.

  Not permitted are:

  • Cameras with interchangeable lenses and camera tripods
  • Pyrotechnics of any kind
  • Bags, cloth bags, backpacks with a format larger than DIN A4
  • Bottles
  • Drinks and food of all kinds
  • Selfie sticks

SV Darmstadt 98 remain a force to be reckoned with at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor! The Lilies defeated Fortuna Düsseldorf 2-1 (1-1) on matchday 23. It's their sixth consecutive home win, bringing their total to 45 points. Hornby opened the scoring for the home side after just seven minutes, before Maglica (88th minute) netted the decisive goal in the second half.
