Fan Information for the Bielefeld Game

The sun is shining on the Bielefeld Alm on Saturday afternoon (April 4th, 1pm). On matchday 28 of this second division season, DSC Arminia Bielefeld hosts SV Darmstadt 98. To ensure you have all the information you need for your trip to the SchücoArena, here's what you need to know about your visit.

Arrival/Parking

Arrival/Parking by Car and Nine-Seater:

By car from Hannover: Drivers arriving on the A2 from Hannover should take exit 28 Ostwestfalen-Lippe and follow the signs to the university parking areas.

By car from Dortmund: Drivers arriving on the A2 from Dortmund should follow signs for „Bielefeld“ at the Bielefeld interchange and then take the A33 towards Osnabrück. Continue on the A33 to the new exit 19 Bielefeld-Zentrum. From there, follow the signs to the university parking areas.

By car from Paderborn: Those arriving on the A33 from Paderborn should follow signs for „Bielefeld“ towards Osnabrück at the Bielefeld interchange until exit 19, Bielefeld-Zentrum. From there, follow the signs to the stadium and the parking areas at the university.

Parking: Due to limited parking in the immediate vicinity of the stadium (residential area), the large parking garage at Bielefeld University is recommended. From the university parking lots, visitors can reach the SchücoArena on foot (15 minutes) or by tram line 4 (your match ticket serves as your tram ticket; stop: „Graf-von-Stauffenberg-Straße“).

Arrival/Parking by Bus:

Buses should park directly at the stadium and will be directed by the police. Enter the following address into your GPS: Busparkplatz: Schloßhofstraße 54, 33615 Bielefeld (Please note: Buses will be directed. This is only an address for orientation).

Arrival/Parking by Train/Public Transport:

The stadium is within walking distance of Bielefeld Central Station. The approximately 1.2-kilometre route to the away section is signposted. Larger groups will be escorted by the police. Your match ticket entitles you to free travel on local buses and trams within the city, as well as free travel to and from the stadium on OWL Verkehr GmbH public transport for three hours before and after the match.

Stadium

Stadium Opening: The stadium opens 1.5 hours before kickoff. On Saturday, this means at 11:30am. Tickets: Please be sure to bring printed copies of your tickets with you to Bielefeld. Only printed tickets will grant you entry to the stadium without any problems. The away section is standing block A1 and seating blocks A2 and B2. The North Entrance is the only entrance available for away fans.

Ticket Office: There will be a ticket office directly at the away entrance, which will also open two hours before kickoff. Please note the €2 surcharge. Important: Only standing tickets are available. Payment can be made in cash or by card.

Bag Drop-off: There is a limited bag drop-off area in front of the stadium. However, it is recommended to leave your luggage in your car.

Fanny Packs: Standard fanny packs and belt bags may be taken into the stands after inspection. Bags larger than 25cm x 25cm x 25cm are not permitted inside the stadium.

Food and Drinks: All concession stands are cashless only (debit cards, credit cards, and Apple/Google Pay are accepted). Alcohol is generally not served in the away section. Exceptions regarding mixed drinks or full-strength beer will be discussed during the security briefing.

Stadium Bans: Fans with stadium bans may generally remain outside the away section.

Cameras: Standard large compact cameras are permitted for private use. System cameras, DSLRs, and similar cameras are not allowed.

Safe Haven: The „Safe Haven“ is the contact point of DSC Arminia Bielefeld, where those affected can turn to for help via various channels if they have been discriminated against, harassed, or insulted in the stadium. Information for away fans with disabilities:

Fans in wheelchairs should wait in the inner area in front of the away section and report to the stewards at the away entrance. They will then be escorted through the home section to their seats. Five wheelchair spaces are always available, plus space for one accompanying person.

All fan materials were registered through the club’s fan liaison officer.

The following materials are permitted in Bielefeld:

  • Megaphones unlimited
  • Drums (open on one side) unlimited
  • 15 x large swivels (larger than two metres stick length)
  • Smaller flags (up to 1.5 metres pole length) and fence flags unlimited
  • Fence flags may be attached to the fence, or, after consultation with the security service, to the breakwater.

The escape and rescue routes (yellow markings) must not be obstructed.

DFL ends match days until the end of the season

The German Football League (DFL) announced the exact times for the remaining matchdays on Friday afternoon (March 27). The home game on matchday 31 against SV Elversberg will take place on Saturday evening (April 25) at 8:30pm. This will be followed by two away games against Karlsruher SC (May 3) and Preußen Münster (May 10), both at 1:30pm. On the final matchday, Darmstadt will host SC Paderborn at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor at 3:30pm. (May 17).

The worst fears have been confirmed: Luca Marseiler suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the home match against FC Schalke 04. The 29-year-old sustained the injury in the 23rd minute without any contact from an opponent. Marseiler will be sidelined for several months.
