Awareness concept “Where does Panama go?”
1. FC Köln has introduced „PANAMA,“ a support service for anyone who feels uncomfortable, unsafe, harassed, or inconvenienced at the RheinEnergieSTADION. This is how the „Where’s the way to PANAMA?“ support service works:
- The affected person alone decides which situation is considered threatening.
- Those seeking assistance can approach FC staff and all other employees (security guards, paramedics, service personnel, etc.) at the RheinEnergieSTADION with the question „Where is the way to PANAMA?“ or the code word „PANAMA.“
- If the question or code word is stated, no further explanation is required. Immediate assistance is provided without further questions or evaluation!
- Various support services are available, tailored to the situation. Those seeking assistance decide for themselves the type of support they require.
- There are various rooms at the RheinEnergieSTADION where those seeking assistance can retreat if desired. The psychosocial emergency care providers of the German Red Cross (DRK) are available there to provide initial care for those seeking assistance, decide which measures are necessary, and, if necessary, refer them to organisations specialising in the specific case.
- Contact and description of relevant incidents are also possible after home games. For example, you can contact the FC itself or the Reporting Center for Discrimination in Football in North Rhine-Westphalia (external case management), by phone at 0234/97830721 or by email at info@medif-nrw.de. The reporting form is available here.
