7 games undefeated

SV Darmstadt 98 is currently doing well in the 2nd Bundesliga. With a remarkable streak of seven games unbeaten in a row (4 wins, 3 draws), the Lilies are the only team in the league that can currently boast such a streak in the league. Behind them lurks 1. FC Kaiserslautern, who have been undefeated in six games.

Good patch

Under Florian Kohfeldt, SV Darmstadt 98 is showing a positive trend, especially on foreign pitches. The Lilies got three wins and one draw from four games. And the Volksparkstadion has always been a good place for SV 98 in recent years. The Darmstadt team has been unbeaten away from HSV for seven games. The South Hesse team achieved an impressive five wins and two draws. It is also interesting that in the last 16 meetings between the two teams, the home team has never won. HSV’s last home win was in 1981 – a long time ago.

Scoring goals...

… both teams can. The upcoming duel between Hamburger SV and SV Darmstadt 98 could be goal-rich. Because the two most accurate offensive lines in the league meet. With 31 goals, HSV has the best attack in the 2nd Bundesliga, closely followed by SVD and 1. FC Nürnberg (both 28). Since coach Florian Kohfeldt took office, the Lilies have been the most dangerous team in the league. During this period, SV 98 scored 26 times, while HSV scored two fewer goals. The Hanseatic League is particularly strong in the Volksparkstadion: with 18 goals, Hamburg is the best home offensive in the competition. But they face a Darmstadt team that is particularly dangerous in scoring, especially away from home. 16 away goals make the Lilies the best away offensive together with Hertha BSC.

Few shots on goal...

…both teams also need to score a goal. SV Darmstadt 98 and Hamburger SV are among the most efficient offensive teams in the league. With 205 shots on goal (Darmstadt) and 204 shots on goal (HSV), both are almost on par and are among the teams with the most goals. Only a few clubs can top these values: 1. FC Köln has the most shots on goal, leading the league in this category with 264 shots on goal. Fortuna Düsseldorf is also in the spotlight with 208 deals and is just ahead of Darmstadt and Hamburg.

Meeting with the former club

Hamburg goalkeeper Daniel Heuer Fernandes stood between the posts for the Lilies from 2016 to 2019 and played a total of 72 competitive games for the men from Böllenfalltor before moving to HSV. On the other hand, Alexander Brunst has a connection to the upcoming opponent. From 2008 to 2014, the goalkeeper spent his youth at HSV and continued to play for the Rothosen’s second team. Fabian Nürnberger also meets his hometown club. Born in Hamburg, the left-back played in the HSV youth team until 2015. Klaus Gjasula will also face his former club. The midfielder played in 16 competitive games for Hamburger SV from 2016 to 2018 before joining the Lilies.

Yellow Danger

Fabian Nürnberger and Kai Klefisch both have four yellow cards.
