Florian Kohfeldt extends contract
SV 98 and Florian Kohfeldt are moving forward together. The 43-year-old has extended his contract with the Lilies.
The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) sentenced SV Darmstadt 98 to a fine of 99,000 euros for the derby home game against Eintracht Frankfurt in February. The reason for this is the burning of pyrotechnic objects. The SV 98 can use around a third of the fine for security or violence prevention measures.
Managing director Michael Weilguny: „This is by far the highest penalty that has ever been imposed on SV 98. We have now reached an economic level when it comes to pyrotechnic penalties, which is doing us massive damage. Unfortunately, these penalties have been the same for us in recent years virtually impossible to prevent at all other professional football locations despite intensive efforts in the preventive, organisational and security-related areas.“
Weilguny concluded: „Regardless of the fact that we are looking for ways to meaningfully reform the punishment system together with other clubs, it is important to continue to communicate internally and to raise awareness of the financial consequences for the club. Therefore, we must and will continue to do so „Look for and further intensify the exchange with the active fan scene on this topic.“
