Florian Kohfeldt extends contract
SV 98 and Florian Kohfeldt are moving forward together. The 43-year-old has extended his contract with the Lilies.
The preparations for the Lilies are in full swing: Last Thursday (June 20th) all the players came together again for the first time in the SV Darmstadt 98 function building and completed medical tests and performance diagnostics. On Saturday (June 22nd), head coach Torsten Lieberknecht's team trained for the first time, with around 1,000 spectators in the stands at the Merck Stadium. On Monday (June 24th) the SVD sets off for the first training camp of the summer, the 98ers will stay at the Hotel Sonnenhof in Lautenbach until Friday (June 28th). The focus of the first of two training camps this summer is a mix of running and soccer units.
The professionals from SV Darmstadt 98 are returning to a familiar location; the southern Hesse team will be visiting the 2,000-person village of Lautenbach for a week. The SVD in the Black Forest was already preparing for the new season in the summer of 2018. “We already know the hotel from our training camp in 2018 and know that we will find very good conditions here. “This allows us to focus perfectly on the sporting topics,” says Michael Stegmayer, Head of Organisation for the Licensed Players Department at SV 98, explaining the choice of location.
Optimal conditions to lay the foundation for the coming season!
Lautenbach is a tempting destination for wine lovers; the city’s coat of arms already illustrates the agricultural proximity to wine and fruit growing. But the prerequisites for optimal preparation are also present in the town, around 20 kilometers away from Offenburg. The direct proximity to the training ground was an important criterion for those responsible: “The short distance to the pitch, the existing running routes and a very well-equipped fitness studio offer us optimal conditions to lay the foundation for the coming season.”
The Sonnenhof is also already full of anticipation for the Lilies‘ return visit: “The team at the Hotel – Spa – Restaurant Sonnenhof in Lautenbach is very happy about the SV Darmstadt 98’s new training camp visit. The Lilies were already our guests in 2018 – a An all-round successful stay that we look back on fondly.” The wellness hotel, which also regularly hosts sports teams for training camps, is located in the Renchtal, nestled between the Rhine plain and the Black Forest High Road.
After the five-day training camp, things continue quickly for the Lilies: The team will play their first test match on Saturday (June 29th/1pm), with the 98ers meeting SpVgg Hainstadt.
