+++ We are with you, Luca +++

On Saturday evening, one incident overshadowed the entire match: Luca Marseiler had to be carried off the pitch. The diagnosis: a torn cruciate ligament. A difficult moment for Luca, for the club, and for everyone who knows him. In an emotional Instagram post, he expressed his gratitude for the messages he received: „Nevertheless, I would like to thank everyone who thought of me.“ He received well wishes from all over. Not only teammates and Darmstadt fans wrote to him, but also former colleagues and even Schalke fans wished him all the best for his recovery. Despite this injury, he remains defiant: „I will not give up – I have already overcome many obstacles in my career. I will be back!“ he shared in his Instagram post.

We wish you all the best, Luca.

+++ Notable success for the "second team" +++

Eighth minute: 1-0 for TGB Darmstadt. Tenth minute: 2-0, TGB adds another goal immediately. On Sunday, it looked as if the SV Darmstadt 98 fan team would suffer a heavy defeat away at TGB Darmstadt, especially since the home team was in fourth place in the league. But the match had much more in store.

While no goals were scored for a while, the referee brandished yellow cards time and time again. By the 69th minute, the Darmstadt second team had already received five yellow cards, while the home side had received four. Then the scoreboard changed: Deniz Guellueoglo’s goal, which injected additional energy into the game, reduced the deficit to 2-1 (69′).

Two minutes later, the referee had to reach into his pocket again. This time, however, it was a yellow-red card. Both players were sent off, meaning it was ten against ten from the 71st minute onward. Ten minutes later, or rather six cautions later, the SVD team scored the long-awaited equaliser, making it 2-2 thanks to an own goal by TGB, which also proved to be the final score.

The spectacular match resulted in a crucial victory in the fight against relegation and a significant boost to team morale. This Sunday (March 29th, 3pm), the action continues. The reserve team hosts FC Sturm Darmstadt in the Kreisliga B and hopes for a win.

+++ The Weekend of the Young Lilies +++

The SV Darmstadt 98 U19 team hosted the SC Fortuna Köln U19 team. After a goalless first half, 13 exciting minutes decided the entire match. Just 180 seconds after the restart, the visitors took a 1-0 lead. The Young Lilies equalised shortly after (54th minute). But Köln had an answer of their own, taking a 2-1 lead after an hour of play. This goal would ultimately prove to be the final score. As a result, the Young Lilies currently sit in fifth place in the league, just one point behind the playoff spots. Before the league resumes, the team will play their round of 16 match in the Hessen Cup tonight (March 25th, 7pm). They will be aiming for a place in the next round of the A-Junior Hessen Cup on the artificial turf at JSG Leihgestern/FC Tuba.

The SV Darmstadt 98 U17 team also suffered a narrow defeat this weekend. FC Memmingen secured their first win of the season with a 1-0 away victory. They will be looking to bounce back from last Sunday’s loss this Sunday against FC Ingolstadt’s U17 team (March 29th, 2pm). With four draws in six matches, Ingolstadt are the draw specialists of the league. The young Lilies currently sit in sixth place, just two points behind the playoff spots.
