The participants were warmly welcomed by board member Roy Reinelt-Peter and the SV 98 Membership and Fan Affairs department before the meeting began. An interactive presentation provided attendees with extensive information about SV 98 as a membership-based club, its amateur sports programs, and its history and significance. The Darmstadt Fan Project, a key partner of the U18 Club, introduced itself and answered questions from the members present.
Between presentations, the young people had the opportunity to vote online on programs and planned events, or to contribute their own ideas. In a relaxed atmosphere, the next steps for the U18 Club were evaluated. SV 98 also presented the results of a large-scale member survey for young people, which were met with general approval.
In the next steps, monthly invitations to events for young members will be sent out via email. These will include workshops, readings, lectures, trips organised by the fan project for under-18s, fan-themed evenings for young people, and introductory courses in recreational sports. The opinions of all members in this age group will also continue to be considered through voting and surveys, for example, when choosing a name and logo for the newly established under-18 club.
Finally, all attendees were given a tour of the players‘ area and the VIP boxes in the main stand before the event concluded around 7pm.
We thank all participants and look forward to many more exciting news and events for our young club members, who will ultimately shape the future at the Böllenfalltor stadium.
