“Lilien-Kater”: Successful premiere at the Bölle
The Merck Stadium at the Böllenfalltor was not open for a football game, but it was still supposed to be about the lilies: Author Michael Kibler read from his newly published book “Lilien-Kater” in the club box on Thursday evening (April 11th). The Spiegel best-selling author made around 60 listeners present curious about the second crime novel with the subject of SV Darmstadt 98.
The content of the novel takes place a good year ago, with the starting point being the promotion celebration of the 98ers to the 1st Bundesliga at Karolinenplatz. Unfortunately, there were pickpockets at the celebration, as the book says. The private detectives Paul Wagner and his colleague Herbert Stallitzer are then hired to recover one of the stolen wallets from an important customer of a law firm because it contains, among other things, a silver lily pin.
“It was a very successful evening. „I’ve read virtually all of the books in the Darmstadt crime series, but the reference to the lilies is something very special for me,“ said a long-time season ticket holder, enthusiastic about the reading organised by the SV 98 fan and support department. The special flair in the lily box at the middle line also attracted non-bookworms to the premiere. „I usually leave the reading of books to my wife, but as soon as the lilies are involved, I immediately prick up my ears,“ reports another lily fan.
The reading was also something special for the author himself. „I always drink a lot of water while I read from my books. But for this work I decided to only drink from a lily glass. The location here today couldn’t be more appropriate,“ Kibler introduced the evening . After a good hour and a half, everyone present had the chance to ask the author, who now lives in Darmstadt, questions and then have their books signed.
