Luca Marseiler in Portrait
The second newcomer for the 2024/25 season is the offensive player Luca Marseiler. The 27-year-old has probably had the best season of his career to date, and now the Bavarian would like to build on these achievements in Darmstadt. We have taken a closer look at our new offensive player and would like to introduce you to Luca.
13 goals and 9 assists! The numbers that our new signing Luca Marseiler put up at Viktoria Köln last season sound promising. Now the offensive player wants to show his skills at the Böllenfalltor: “I’m really looking forward to getting started with Darmstadt in preparation and then getting to know my new teammates.”
The 27-year-old was trained in the youth ranks of FC Bayern Munich and SpVgg Unterhaching. Before the offensive player moved to the record champions, his father trained him at SV-DJK Taufkirchen. “We all went to Bayern together: my brother went to the U11, I went to the U12 and my father became the U9 coach. He later worked as a scout,” the Munich native looked back on his youth in an interview with Kicker. Back then, he only had football on his mind all day, says the new Lily.
In his first interview with the SVD, Marseiler immediately says that his mother had another plan for her son. “My mom forced me a little bit to pursue my school career on the side, and I have now fulfilled that,” says the two-footed newcomer with a smile, who already spoke about his studies in the Kicker interview last December: “I have in addition to football, I got my bachelor’s degree in business administration and founded a perfume company with my brother. That’s going well too, but I do it more out of passion.”
Back to Marseiler’s greatest passion: football. After his youth in Unterhaching, the now 27-year-old became a professional there and played for them until 2021. This was followed by a move to SC Paderborn, and in the same transfer period Marseiler came on loan to Viktoria Köln. In the summer of 2022 he then permanently joined Viktoria, and now the next step follows in the Bundesliga 2.
Welcome to Darmstadt, Luca!
