Marco Thiede signs for SV 98
Marco Thiede now wears the Lily on his chest. The second division experienced right-back, who had already trained with SV 98 last week, signed a contract with the South Hesse team on Tuesday (September 24th).
Paul Fernie: „The signing of Marco Thiede gives us flexibility on the right defensive side. Marco is a hard-working mentality player who has a lot of experience in the second division. He also has a good foundation in terms of fitness, which we were able to benefit from. We are assuming that he will not need a long warm-up time and will quickly integrate into our squad.“
Marco Thiede: „I’m happy to now officially be a player for SV Darmstadt 98. Last week I was able to get a first insight into the processes and the top conditions here in Darmstadt. The team is totally open and is doing the same It’s very easy for new players to integrate. I’m happy to be able to call them my teammates.“
Thiede spent the past seven years at Karlsruher SC. He played in a total of 202 competitive games for Baden, including 124 matches in Bundesliga 2. He made further second division appearances at SV Sandhausen. To date, Thiede has played a total of 198 games in Germany’s second highest division. Thiede was trained at FC Augsburg. The 32-year-old will wear number 13 at SV 98.

Marseiler suffers cruciate ligament tear
The worst fears have been confirmed: Luca Marseiler suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the home match against FC Schalke 04. The 29-year-old sustained the injury in the 23rd minute without any contact from an opponent. Marseiler will be sidelined for several months. Further treatment and the timing of the surgery will be decided in the coming days.

Patric Pfeiffer on an international trip
Patric Pfeiffer has been called up to the Ghanaian national team for the first time. The 26-year-old central defender is in the squad for the upcoming friendlies, in which Ghana will first face Austria on Friday (March 27th/6pm) and then Germany on Monday (March 30th/8:45pm).
U21: Young Lilies defeated shortly before the end
A close match ended in a late defeat for SV Darmstadt 98's U21 team. On Saturday (March 21st, 3:00pm), the young Lilies hosted SC Waldgirmes. The two teams are now separated by only one point in the league table, a situation reflected in the course of the game and the final score of 2-1.
Krombacher Böllenfalltor GOAL bonus
