Honorary President Hans Kessler: “I would like to thank everyone who voted for the name. The Dugena clock represents a piece of contemporary history at SV Darmstadt 98. Personally, I am proud to be a part of this history and find the curve with the Dugena clock, the steps and breakwaters from the old Böllenfalltor to be a wonderful connection between the past and Future.“
Vice President Markus Pfitzner: “We are pleased that so many members were so actively involved in finding the name of the nostalgia corner. We are very happy that part of the stadium will now bear the name of our honorary president Hans Kessler, to whom we as a club owe a lot. The name of the area always means a reminder of the values and guidelines that SV Darmstadt 98 developed under Hans Kessler at that time.
Renovation work is currently underway on the corner and is expected to be completed at the beginning of 2025. In the future, the Dugena clock will also be located in this area, which is currently being repaired by the engineers from Makerspace Darmstadt e.V. with the help of the Council of Elders.
Once the renovation work has been completed, the corner will offer standing room for around 25 people. These can be booked by fan groups, members and business partners in a package with space and meals on a match-day basis. Details on ticket allocation follow. The capacity of the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor remains at 17,810 spectators.
