No home points for the U21s
Last Saturday (September 21st) the U21 of SV Darmstadt 98 welcomed the guests of FSV Fernwald – unfortunately without success. The duel ended 0-2 from the Junglilies point of view.
Alsbach. 11th matchday of the Hessenliga. U21 head coach Daniel Petrowsky’s team met fifth-placed Fernwald on home turf. Unfortunately, the U21 team of SV Darmstadt 98 were unable to score any points and were defeated 2-0. „We played against one of the top teams in the Hessenliga with experienced players. In the end we lacked activity and cold-bloodedness,“ said Petrowsky, summing up the game. The first half went without goals. „We had our chances in the first half after good transitions , but couldn’t finish them consistently. “The opposing goalkeeper also saved very well,” said the U21 head coach about the first 45 goalless minutes of the game.
Second half. The Fernwälder made full use of their strengths as the game progressed and took the lead in the 54th minute. The guests then took advantage of another opportunity after 75 minutes to increase the score to 2-0. „Our own mistakes blew up in our face,“ said Petrowsky, annoyed about the two goals conceded after the break. Nevertheless, the Junglilien keep their heads up. „I have to say that we can still be satisfied with the performance. We were able to counterattack for a long time against a strong team and played a good game. In the end, you have to analyse games like this, get better in training, correct the mistakes and take advantage of your own opportunities,“ the 47-year-old looks optimistically into the future.
The next game is coming up in just a few days. Next Saturday (September 28th) the U21 of SV Darmstadt 98 will face Eintracht Stadtallendorf away. The Junglilien are visiting the sixth-place team, who are currently on a streak of three wins in a row. Kick-off is at 2pm.

After 13 unbeaten second-division matches, SV Darmstadt 98 suffered their first defeat this Friday evening. Three unfortunate minutes just before halftime, during which Patric Pfeiffer was sent off and Vincent Vermeij scored twice, paved the way for Dresden's victory. After the match, the focus was primarily on the differing assessments of two very similar incidents by the refereeing team – incidents which both coaches subsequently evaluated identically.

For the first time since October, Darmstadt 98 finished a league match without any points: SV 98 lost 3-1 (2-0) to SG Dynamo Dresden. After a controversial red card against Patric Pfeiffer (42nd minute), the home side scored two goals in first-half stoppage time to secure the victory.
