Torsten Lieberknecht:

“Congratulations to Leipzig on their deserved victory. It was important for us how we picked ourselves up after the 6-0 defeat against Augsburg last week. It wasn’t easy to get back on track. With the early deficit we had a brief moment of deja-vu. We showed a certain attitude and gained confidence on the pitch, which helped us. Although, maybe we had a bit too much security. When we had the ball, I would have wanted us to do even more. Despite the defeat, it was a small step forward for us with an eye on what’s to come. We’ll stick with it and keep working. It is also important that we stay together.

Marco Rose:

„Thank you for the congratulations. It was a good performance by my team. We were there straight away and present and also excited to play. The early goal obviously helped us. We missed a few opportunities and allowed a total of three chances for the Darmstadt team, which then made it 2-0 But it gave us a little peace of mind. I like the path we’re on and we want to continue on it.“

Christoph Klarer:

„We sat down after the 6-0 loss against Augsburg during the week. After all, we couldn’t continue like this. This club has worked incredibly hard over the last few years to get into the Bundesliga. We have the big dream of being in the league Everyone has to contribute more to that. Today we showed character and poise – against an opponent with enormous quality. However, our start to the game was extremely unfortunate with the own goal. The ball came in at a lot of speed and Ishi then deflected it into the goal. But I don’t blame Thomas. Overall, we had one or two half chances, but Leipzig’s victory is ultimately deserved because of their many chances.“

Tobias Kempe:

„After the pitch-black day against Augsburg, we wanted to show reaction today. Of course we knew that it would be an extremely difficult task here in Leipzig. We conceded the first goal much too early, but we still left our hearts on the pitch today and gave everything. Leipzig’s individual class was of course clear in many situations. Unfortunately, the bottom line is another defeat, but it was clear that we didn’t let our heads down after last week. Everything is still for us possible, we will continue after this game and prepare for the home game against Bayern.”
