Pursuing the “ticket black market” is one of the major annoyances for fans and the club involves considerable effort: countless frustrated and angry supporters regularly report overpriced ticket offers online or ask questions out of concern about the validity of their tickets on the “black market” purchased tickets to the clubs, which leads to a lot of additional work. The requirements for passing on tickets are correspondingly clear in our general ticket terms and conditions (ATGB). SV Darmstadt 98 is committed to fair ticket prices and wants to protect fans from overpriced tickets. The aim is to offer tickets in a wide range of price segments so that everyone has the opportunity to follow the games. This attitude is broken on the black market. SV Darmstadt 98 is committed to consistent legal prosecution in collaboration with external lawyers. Due to the demand situation described, tickets are increasingly ending up on the black market. On well-known platforms such as “eBay”, “Kleinanzeigen”, “viagogo”, “ticketbande”, “StubHub”, “seatwave” or “Facebook”, tickets are often offered at significantly inflated prices. However, the resale of tickets via internet platforms, especially with the intention of making a profit (this also includes an offer on a negotiated basis), is strictly prohibited according to our General Terms and Conditions and will be prosecuted in the interests of all fans, just as the trading of overpriced tickets to SV Darmstadt 98 games will be prosecuted the stadium. In the event of such unauthorised transfer of tickets, the club is entitled to block the corresponding tickets without compensation and to refuse access to the stadium. Separating rival fan groups and excluding violent stadium visitors are significantly more difficult when resold on the black market. Uncontrolled trading of tickets on the black market not only leads to an increase in ticket prices, but also endangers general security in the stadiums. For all of the reasons mentioned, SV Darmstadt 98, in cooperation with external lawyers (see ATGB), takes consistent civil and criminal action against any unauthorised ticket sales discovered. Any unauthorised ticket seller must expect tougher sanctions, such as the imposition of contractual penalties, the blocking of their customer account, stadium bans or criminal prosecution. Unfortunately, there is no alternative to this consistent approach to dealing with the unauthorised distribution of tickets in view of the continuously growing ticket black market to protect our own fans and spectators.
