U19 completes intensive training camp in Taubertal
From July 20th to 22nd, the SV Darmstadt 98 U19 team held their training camp at the Edelfinger Hof Hotel in the Tauber Valley. Over three intensive days, coach Patrick Kurt's team prepared for the upcoming season in the U19 DFB Youth League.
In addition to tactical and technical sessions on the pitch, the program also included athletic training, team building, and numerous discussions. Despite the occasional rain, a highly focused and motivated atmosphere prevailed throughout the team. Particularly striking was the high level of discipline on and off the pitch – an important foundation for a successful season.
Thoughts about the training camp
Coach Patrick Kurt was thoroughly satisfied: „The boys pulled together brilliantly and brought a really good energy to the field. We were able to make important steps both in terms of content and teamwork. A weekend like this together, away from everyday life, is enormously valuable for cohesion and further development.“
The sporting director of the youth academy, Björn Müller, also emphasised the importance of such measures: „The training camp offers ideal conditions for working on the fundamentals during an important phase of the season – physically, tactically, but also in terms of teamwork. It was nice to see how cohesive and focused the group performed.“
The team is now looking forward to the upcoming challenges with anticipation and enthusiasm. On Saturday (July 26th), Patrick Kurt’s team will play one last friendly against FC Basel’s U19s (in Basel), before kicking off the season with a home game in Urberach against TSG Hoffenheim’s U19s on Saturday (August 2, 11am).
Special thanks go to the Hotel Edelfinger Hof and the entire team on site, who created optimal conditions for our training camp with great hospitality, flexibility and perfect organisation.
