After five games without a win in the Lotto Hessenliga, the Lilien U21 celebrated a convincing home win against TuS Hornau. From the first minute, the team from Darmstadt showed a strong performance and dominated the game. In the 22nd minute, Viktor Grbic gave the Junglilien a deserved 1-0 lead after a strong combination with Asaf Arania. Afterwards, TuS Hornau also found their way into the game better. “The 2-0 win by Fabio Torsiello shortly before half-time was particularly important for us,” emphasised U21 head coach Daniel Petrowsky.
After the break, the South Hesse team continued to play freely and hardly allowed their opponents any chances. In the 59th minute, Georgios Makridis increased the score to 3-0 with a penalty kick, thus ensuring an early preliminary decision. The final point was again scored by Grbic, who also made it 4-0 with a penalty in the 74th minute. “Overall it was a well-deserved victory for us,” summed up a satisfied Petrowsky.
Next Sunday (October 13th/3pm) the Junglilien will continue away at SC 1960 Hanau. The team then wants to score the next three points there.
