The U21 played against TSV Eintracht Stadtallendorf last Saturday (September 28th). An opponent who has won all of the last six duels. “We actually held up well. It was a game at the same level, with only a few chances to score,” summarised Daniel Petrowsky, head coach of the U21s. In the first half of the game, both teams largely neutralised each other. But in the 33rd minute the hosts took a 1-0 lead and took this score with them into the half-time break.
In the second half of the game, Stadtallendorf took advantage of an individual mistake by the Darmstadt team and added another goal. The U21 of SV 98 continued to try to respond with a goal of their own. However, the efforts were unsuccessful. “It was a difficult away game. In the end, the opponent was more consistent and took advantage of our individual mistakes. Nevertheless, we will continue to work hard and learn from it,” concluded Petrowsky.
The next encounter is now imminent: next Thursday afternoon (October 3rd) the U21s will face their next opponent in Marburg – against VfB 1905 Marburg. Kick-off is at 3pm.
