The second half proved to be a test of patience for SV Darmstadt 98’s U21 team. Lilies head coach Daniel Petrowsky breathed fresh air into the game with a double substitution. Substitute Mika Schlosser was the one who finally broke the deadlock, giving the hosts a 1-0 lead in the 71st minute. The next substitution came in the 79th minute, and it had a decisive impact on the Lilies‘ game: Imad Jaadar came on for Milian Herbst and provided new attacking impetus. What’s more, in the 86th minute, he made it 2-0. Another impact from the substitute. SV 98 had to tremble briefly towards the end: the visitors pulled one back from a penalty (90th minute). But the young Lilies didn’t let much slip in stoppage time, securing the next three points.
Following this win, the Lilies maintain their 5th place in the LOTTO Hessenliga. The U21 team’s season continues to be positive: the youngsters now have five wins and two draws, with only one loss. The Lilies aim to continue their good form next Saturday at 2pm against TSV Eintracht Stadtallendorf.
