Vukotic signs for the Lilien
One day before the start of public training, SV Darmstadt 98 can announce another new signing: Central defender Aleksandar Vukotic is moving to the Böllenfalltor from SV Wehen Wiesbaden.
Paul Fernie: “We are really happy that Aleksandar chose us despite great interest from the second Bundesliga. He is a true warrior who leaves his heart on the court. We look forward to his assertiveness in duels and presence in the air, after all, no second division player won more defensive headers last season.”
Torsten Lieberknecht: “Aleksandar is a well-trained, experienced defensive tower who is over two meters tall and who absolutely proved his suitability for the second division last season. In addition, he puts himself completely at the service of the team. I am happy to welcome him to our squad today.”
Aleksandar Vukotic: “I am happy to be able to continue playing in the second division. I can’t wait to get to know everyone and then get started on the field with the team. I want to help the team with my style of play and do my part to ensure that Darmstadt is successful in the coming season.”
Vukotic’s first stop abroad was the Bosnian club FK Krupa in 2015, for which he was active for a total of three seasons. In 2018 he moved to SK Beveren, for the Belgians the 2.01 meter tall Serb played in a total of 128 competitive games. Last summer, Vukotic joined SV Wehen Wiesbaden. The 28-year-old played in 28 second division games for SVWW and also played the club’s two relegation games.
Vukotic will wear number 20 for SV 98.
