Florian Kohfeldt:

„We fought hard for this point today. It was an intense and truly high-class second-division game. Kiel was the strongest team we’ve played against so far this season – especially in terms of organisation and individual quality. I have to commend my opponent; Kiel did extremely well today. The final training session with Kai Klefisch’s injury and the first few minutes today with Fabian Nürnberger’s injury were both very difficult for us. We were lucky not to fall behind at the beginning of the game. Gradually, we stabilised, had a few periods of possession, and had our chances up until halftime. The second half started evenly. Then, out of nowhere, Isac Lidberg scored a great goal. After that, we became a little too passive. We only let loose once on the wing, which allowed the cross pass before the dream goal to make it 1-1. Overall, it was a game of mentality for us.“

Marcel Rapp:

„It was a clear improvement on the Elversberg game. We started the game very well, had good chances through Skrzybski and also through Bernhardsson. We were very pleased with the first half; we were dominant and defensively solid. The only thing missing was the goal. We didn’t defend well when we conceded the goal, but we stayed with it and scored the beautiful equaliser. Despite the point against a top team, we’re dissatisfied because we could have done better.“

Aleksandar Vukotic:

„We’re unbeaten in four matches now, so it’s a good point. Kiel is a really good team. We already knew before the game that they were a very good opponent with a lot of quality. Nobody expected us to win by a large margin here. So we should be happy with the draw. Defensively, we could have been even better today, of course. Kiel had a few good chances, but Schuh also made some fantastic saves today. And up front, we have someone like Isac Lidberg. With his quality, he can always score a goal out of nowhere.“

Marcel Schuhen:

„After we took the lead, I felt Kiel were already putting pressure on us, and then they equalised with a dream goal. But we learned from past experiences, stayed calm, and ultimately managed to get a point. That was truly the most pleasing thing for me today: the reaction after conceding the goal. Compared to the away game in Kaiserslautern, we didn’t fall apart, but remained calm and stable. Instead of getting wild, we adjusted our approach. Overall, it was a fair draw.“

Isac Lidberg to ARD:

„We played against a very good team and a really strong opponent today. Therefore, the 1-1 draw is a fair result, and we should be happy with it. I’m very happy that I was able to help the team take a point here today with my goal.“
