“Win with all your might” | Website now also in English

Jannik Müller spoke in a media round (April 2nd) about the upcoming game in Mainz and the mood in the team. Striker Oscar Vilhelmsson has been very accurate in recent weeks, and Müller has an explanation for this. There is also a new offer for English-speaking fans, the Zwote invites you to the duel next Sunday and there were plenty of birthdays this week. You can find out all this in our weekly section “Lilies across the board”.

+++ “These are not just teammates, but rather friends” +++

In the last two Bundesliga games, Jannik Müller played 90 minutes in the right-back position. Certainly not the regular position for the 30-year-old; he is usually more at home in central defence. In the current situation it is important to find solutions and put yourself at the service of the team. Said and done. Müller helped out on the right against Munich and in Bochum. The native of Rhineland-Palatinate is now looking forward again and should finally get three points against Mainz on Saturday. “We have to deliver a top performance and then have a bit of match luck on our side,” said Müller in a media round on Tuesday (April 2nd). Finally, another groundbreaking game awaits the Lilies with the game on Saturday (April 6th/3:30pm) – even if 18 more points are still up for grabs after this encounter. “But the focus is clearly on the Mainz game, which we want to win with all our might,” emphasises Müller, who sees a big advantage in the relegation battle in the team’s chemistry: “Everyone is trying to push the boys who are playing .” The 30-year-old also praises the relationship between them. “They’re not just teammates, they’re more like friends. No matter what, we help each other. “You learn to appreciate that,” says Müller. This should also help the team deal with the pressure that is “definitely there”.

+++ Lilien International: English website online! +++

As is well known, love goes beyond national borders, including for many SV 98 supporters. For our English-speaking fans, the SV Darmstadt 98 website is now also available in English. The site is maintained by a volunteer and big SVD fan from England – his name is Sam Donovan. Here you will be provided with the latest news, the squad and much more. You can find the English page in the bar at the top right of our homepage. Simply press the English button and enjoy the international flair of the lilies.

+++ Vilhelmsson remains in the mood to score +++

Six goals in the last four games! What may sound to some like a statistic from Harry Kane or Serhou Guirassy is actually the yield of Lilien striker Oscar Vilhelmsson. The 20-year-old Swede is currently in very good spring form and could be an important building block for a positive rest of the season. In the national shirt of the Swedish U21 team, he scored four times in two games during this international period. But Vilhelmsson also posed a goal threat for SV 98: He scored against FC Bayern and contributed a very important goal in Bochum when he netted the equaliser at 2-2 in the 76th minute last Sunday (March 31st). His teammates are also enthusiastic about his current form. “Oscar is really thriving because he is injury-free for a longer period of time,” says teammate Jannik Müller happily.

+++ Zwote with a tough game on Sunday +++

After the Easter break, the Lilies fan team continues with a real top duel. On Sunday (07.04/3pm) the team currently third in the table will meet FTG Pfungstadt II, who are currently in fourth place, at home on Ostendstraße in Pfungstadt. Coach Andreas Degenhardt’s team recently won 3-1 at TSV Eschollbrücken, so we can still look up. Nevertheless, the second team should be warned: After all, there was a 1:2 defeat against the second representative of the FTG earlier in the season.

+++ Happy Birthday³ at Bölle +++

This week three Lilien players have their birthdays. Last Monday (April 1st) our keeper Morten Behrens celebrated his 27th birthday. Sebastian Polter, on loan from FC Schalke 04, was also able to be congratulated on Monday. The striker turned 33. The third in the group is Julian Justvan. The midfielder turned 26 on Tuesday (April 2nd). Happy birthday to all three of you and good luck and success for everything to come over the coming year.

Bölle-Energy

As Florian Kohfeldt approached the team's dressing room at halftime, the Darmstadt head coach heard exactly one sentence: "It's not finished." Fraser Hornby had uttered it, setting the tone for his teammates and himself. What followed was a remarkable second half from Darmstadt 98 and a point against SV Elversberg, a point that, while likely insufficient for their promotion hopes in southern Hesse, nonetheless filled the Darmstadt fans with pride.
