This was preceded by extensive planning work over the past few months. Among other things, static tests had to be carried out and the condition of the ground examined. A solution was also found for the Dugena clock, which had not been functional for a long time: engineers from Makerspace Darmstadt e.V., through the intervention of our council of elders, have already inspected the clock and want to repair it again. The clock has already been dismantled and is currently behind the counter stand for further work.
Once the renovation work has been completed, the corner will offer standing room for around 25 people. These can be booked by fan groups, members and business partners in a package with space and meals on a match-day basis. The grandstand area does not yet have a final name: For this purpose, the fan advisory board was involved, which will draft proposals that the SV98 members will then vote on. The capacity of the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor remains at 17,810 spectators.
