In the summer of last year, Tom Eilers (Managing Director of Licensed Players), Martin Kowalewski (Managing Director of Marketing & Sales) and Björn Müller (Sports Director of the Youth Performance Center) traveled to San Antonio. The city in south Texas has been Darmstadt’s official sister city since 2017 and is connected to SV 98 in a certain way through this fact alone. On site, the Lily trio met representatives and officials from the city, the local football club San Antonio FC (SAFC) and Spurs Sports & Entertainment (SS&E), the operating company of SAFC and the NBA team San Antonio Spurs. Content of the discussions at the time: A possible partnership between the Lilies, the SAFC and the SS&E. Those involved quickly agreed: Let’s tackle this project. And what’s more: This cooperation should not only exist on paper, all sides also want to fill it with content.
How does Andreas Müller look at the 2-2 draw in Düsseldorf and the upcoming opponent SC Paderborn? And how does he see the interaction with his colleague Kai Klefisch in the central midfield of the Lilies? You can find out here. In our weekly section „Lilies across the Board“ We will provide you with all the information from SV Darmstadt 98's club life. Topics this week: The German U21 national team is testing at the Bölle, the start of the eLilien's competitive game and successful test games for the U21 Junglilien.

On February 23rd, the Lilies will host FC Schalke 04 on the occasion of the 23rd second division matchday. Kick-off in the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor is at 1.30pm. Collected the first point of 2025 in the first game of the second half of the season. And that also at the Fortuna Düsseldorf, where the Lilien’s guest appearances had not been successful for decades. A successful start to the competitive season, which is linked to great will and set piece strength. But the fact that a comeback was needed at all was just as annoying. As usual, we look at the most important findings from the 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw with SV Darmstadt 98 in Düsseldorf.
What a show of resilience from the the Lilies in their first competitive game in 2025! SV Darmstadt 98 came back despite being 2-0 down against Fortuna Düsseldorf and added a point to their points account thanks to a 2-2 draw. For the first time in over 30 years, the South Hessians were able to achieve anything worthwhile in Düsseldorf. The Darmstadt protagonists were accordingly happy about coming back and winning the point, but also critical of the two goals they conceded at the microphones after the final whistle. We have summarised all the voices about the game for you.
This time the Lilies are not leaving Fortuna empty-handed: SV 98 fights back in the second round and wins 2:2 (0:1) in Düsseldorf. Corredor (69th, 72nd) equalised with a brace for the South Hesse team, who thus scored their 25th point of the season.
