No more room for a mouse! | A jersey just for you!

The journalists asked the questions, Florian Kohfeldt provided the answers: The head coach of SV 98 was the protagonist of a media session on Tuesday (March 17). We'll report on it. Also, the most unique jersey in the club's history is now available exclusively for members in the online fan shop. In our weekly column "Lilies Across the Board," we'll bring you all the information on these and other topics.

+++ "Everyone notices that it's a special game" +++

Are there any tickets left for the Schalke game? No, the match at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor has been completely sold out for weeks. Even the head coach had to learn this when he made a last-minute inquiry at the SV 98 ticket office. „There’s not a single mouse left in our stadium on Saturday,“ Florian Kohfeldt emphasised in a media briefing on Wednesday (March 17). The anticipation for the duel with FC Schalke 04 on Saturday evening is enormous. „Everyone can tell it’s a special game,“ said Kohfeldt. But the SV 98 head coach cautioned: „The foundation of every game is performance; that’s what we should concentrate on. We shouldn’t get carried away and only talk about atmosphere and emotions, but rather focus much more on our football.“ For Kohfeldt and his team, the challenge is to find the famous „healthy balance.“

+++ Looking forward to Schalke's third game +++

SV Darmstadt 98 and FC Schalke 04 have already met twice this season. In the first half of the 2. Bundesliga season, Darmstadt suffered a 1-0 away defeat. Just a few days later, the two sides met again in the DFB Cup. Darmstadt emerged victorious in front of their home crowd, winning 4-0. But all that is now history. „Schalke is playing a different style of football now than they did in the first half of the season,“ explained Kohfeldt. He added that the Royal Blues have shifted their focus towards attacking play. Kohfeldt also expressed his healthy respect for Schalke, complimenting them, „They deserve to be where they are in the standings.“ He further emphasised: „Both teams have shown that they can be consistent. We’re looking forward to the match.“

+++ Probably the most personal special edition jersey in the club's history! +++

The new and special edition jersey of SV Darmstadt 98 features a striking striped pattern. It displays the familiar lily logo on the chest, but is unique thanks to the individual member number printed on the back. Each jersey is one of a kind. With subtle sponsor logos and a 3D-effect back number, the members‘ jersey boasts a retro look. The jersey will be worn for one exclusive match at the Bölle stadium against SV Elversberg 07. All members can pre-order it now – in the SV 98 online fan shop.

+++ “Second team” suffers frustrating 3-1 defeat +++

The SV Darmstadt 98 fan team suffered a 3-1 defeat against SKG Roßdorf last Sunday (March 15th). Roßdorf led 2-0 at halftime. Shortly after the start of the second half, the „second team“ showed resilience and rekindled their hopes with a goal to make it 2-1 in the 53rd minute. However, the equaliser eluded them. In the 94th minute, Roßdorf sealed the victory, scoring the final goal for a 3-1 final score. The fan team remains on 18 points after this match, but their fight to avoid relegation is still very much alive. They continue their campaign away against TG Bessungen on Sunday (March 22nd, 3pm). Good luck, lads!

+++ This is how things are going with the young lilies +++

In their match against MSV Duisburg, SV Darmstadt 98’s U19 team had to settle for a draw. Last Saturday (March 14th), the young Lilies took an early 1-0 lead at home, but unfortunately, this halftime advantage didn’t last. Duisburg equalised in the 70th minute, making it 1-1, which proved to be the final score. Looking ahead: The next league match in the DFB Youth League awaits SV 98’s U19 team this coming Saturday (March 21st), when they travel to SC Fortuna Köln for a 2pm kickoff.

One age group below, SV Darmstadt 98’s U17 team suffered a defeat against SpVgg Bayreuth. Darmstadt lost 1-0 away from home. Although they couldn’t secure a win in Bayreuth last Sunday (March 15th), the U17s bounced back with a 2-1 victory in their subsequent friendly against SKV RW Darmstadt II, boosting their confidence. Exciting matches await the young Lilies: On Sunday (March 22nd, 11:00am), the U17s host FC Memmingen, followed by a Hessian derby against Eintracht Frankfurt in the round of 16 of the Hessian Cup on Wednesday (March 25th, 7:00pm) at home.

+++ Happy Birthday, Tom! +++

We at „Lilies Across the Board“ would like to belatedly congratulate our Managing Director of Licensed Players, Tom Eilers. He celebrated his 56th birthday yesterday, Tuesday (March 17th). And once again today: Happy belated birthday, Tom!

+++ All the best, Arnd Zinnhardt! +++

Since the members‘ meeting last autumn, Arnd Zinnhardt has been a member of the Darmstadt 98 board. Tomorrow, Thursday (March 19th), the vice president of SV 98 celebrates his birthday. We are very much looking forward to congratulating you on your 64th birthday tomorrow.
