In the first 60 minutes, FCM was clearly the better team. They deservedly took the lead, even if the goal was unusual. Nevertheless, Magdeburg could have been 1-0 up in the first half as well. I have great respect for my team for not losing their heads after going 1-0 down – despite all the setbacks we’ve had this week. The lads showed a certain stability on the pitch. It was important that we played the last half hour the way we did. Therefore, we’ll take the point. Looking at the 90 minutes as a whole, it’s a somewhat fortunate point against a very strong Magdeburg team that showed no signs of uncertainty. You have to put on a top-class away performance here to win. We didn’t do that.“
