The sky over Darmstadt was a deep grey, and the rain poured down in torrents on Wilhelminenstraße. But one shop shone in blue and white. And the weather couldn't stop the Lilies fans. Even before the official opening of SV Darmstadt 98's new city fan shop at Wilhelminenstraße 25, SVD fans stood in front of the shop under umbrellas and in raincoats. They were eager to be there when a new piece of the Lilies' homeland opened its doors for the first time in the heart of Darmstadt's city centre.
The largest choir in southern Hesse! On December 22, 2025, the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor will once again be filled with Christmas cheer when the Darmstadt Christmas Carol Festival – presented by Merck – takes place for the second time. Advance ticket sales start on Wednesday (October 1st at 12pm) both online and at the ticket shop at the Merck Stadium. We have summarised all further information for you in this press release.
Long before Dynamo Dresden was founded in 1953, football played a significant role in the Saxon capital. In 1874, the ball first rolled in an organised fashion in the Florence on the Elbe. The first club was the "Dresden English Football Club," founded by workers from England. Football has always been a close part of the city, and after the founding of SGD, an absolute success story began, which today allows the club to boast a very well-filled trophy room.
A very special evening awaits at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor: On Tuesday (September 23rd), the evening of honour honoured volunteers and long-standing members. Additionally, the SV 98 City Fan Shop opens on Wednesday (September 24th, starting at 5pm), and there's a Lilies birthday to celebrate this week! Read about this and much more in our "Lilien Across the Board" section.
“What makes this club special?” It was a big, meaningful question that Hans Kessler posed at this year’s SV Darmstadt 98 honourary evening. The honourary president’s answer couldn’t have been clearer in this circle. It was the fans, members and the community in the city. It was “the values that have connected so many people over the years. That we do something together, experience something together.” Seen in this light, this evening (September 23rd) and the company in the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor couldn’t have been more appropriate. Over 150 people who hold the Lily loyal to their hearts had gathered in the ENTEGA VIP lounge at the invitation of SV 98. Volunteers and those who volunteer to help who loyally support the club. And members who have been registered with the club for decades.
Our premium partner ENTEGA is once again providing unique stadium experiences this season. You can win two VIP fan seats in the main stand at every home game and also receive access to the ENTEGA VIP Lounge.
On Saturday (September 20th), the SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team visited TSV Eintracht Stadtallendorf. Before kickoff, the league table showed both teams on 17 points each, so a close encounter was expected. Ultimately, the young Lilies won the match 3-1.
"Best regards to Uwe Kuhl!" With a broad grin, Marcel Schuhen waved to the camera after the final whistle and sent a message to the current representative of the Lilies' board, who had scored in the Lilies' last away win in Düsseldorf in September 1988. Almost exactly 37 years later, SV 98 finally won again at Fortuna. Well-deserved, mind you. Especially due to a strong second half. We take a closer look at this almost historic victory in our analysis.
A successful afternoon, in which the Lilies secured a clear lead with three goals in ten minutes, earned SV 98 three more points. The "Düsseldorf curse" has finally been broken after their first away win since 1988. Both coaches spoke afterward of a deserved victory for Darmstadt, who also had two goals ruled out for narrow offsides. The Lilies players were also highly satisfied with their performance and the result.
