„The first half was very erratic for us today, with many mistakes and a clear lack of focus. The sending-off certainly didn’t help. Darmstadt also had some good chances against us, which Leo Weinkauf saved well. Halftime did us good; we calmed down and took stock of the situation. Then we came out and controlled the game clearly and confidently. In my opinion, we decided the game with the 1-0 lead because we didn’t allow much after that. The fact that we had to take the lead while a man down shows the quality and character of the team. Even in the second half, with less energy, we didn’t allow many long-range shots. Apart from the penalty, they didn’t really create any chances where you could say: brilliant play. We’ll definitely take the team spirit and character we showed with us.“
