Home Defeat
A first half that was difficult to explain sealed the defeat early on: the Lilies' home game against FC Augsburg ended with 0:6 (0:5). A very bitter afternoon in the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor.
The worst possible start occurred with the visitors taking the lead after only 2 minutes. A mistake in defence was seized upon by the guests and Tietz was able to finish. A minute later and action swung to the other end of the field and Tim Skarke had the opportunity to equalise but he was denied. The visitors then had the next opportunity but Tietz was unable to add to his tally. Darmstadt struggled to get a foothold in the game and went further behind on 12 minutes when Jensen was able to finish coolly past Marcel Schuhen.
The Lilies continued to shoot themselves in the foot and a back pass that was played too short, allowed Demirovic to make it 3-0 in the 20th minute. More goals were added through Vargas on 24 minutes and Demirovic added a second in the 29th minute.
The closest that Darmstadt came to finding the back of the net in the first didn’t arrive until just before the interval with Andreas Müller in the 44th minute and Sebastian Polter in the 45th minute but neither caused any real concern.
The second half certainly began in a more calmer fashion but Augsburg still remained the more dangerous side. Luca Pfeiffer had the next opportunity for the home side but his header was plucked out of the air by the goalkeeper.
There was very little to mention in the remainder of the game, Fabio Torsiello came close to grabbing his first Bundesliga goal for the club but it was cleared in the 83rd minute. However, Tietz added his second goal in the 84th minute making it 0-6 to complete a thoroughly miserable day for the Lilies

“I’m glad it’s continuing.” | Pfeiffer collects 21 minutes
Marcel Schuhen is eager to get back to Bielefeld and explained just that in a media briefing on Wednesday afternoon (April 1st). The Bölle Gang and numerous other kids were also out in force this week. With the Easter egg hunt at the Bölle stadium and the Merck-Lilien football camp at the youth academy, there was something for even the youngest Lilies to enjoy. U21: Strong performance by the young Lilies not rewarded
The SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team failed to secure any points away at SV Weidenhausen on Saturday (March 28th/3pm). Despite leading at halftime and putting in a strong effort, they ultimately suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat.
Texas Lilies
After their eventful days in San Antonio, the Darmstadt delegation concludes their trip to Texas in Beaumont. And the scene that greets the team from southern Hesse initially seems like a crazy dream. Far from home and under the Texas sun, a club wears the Lily on its chest and the Darmstadt name on its back.

A delegation led by Darmstadt 98 president Markus Pfitzner is using the current international break in March for a trip to San Antonio to further strengthen the connection with cooperation partner San Antonio FC, gain deeper insights into the local economy, and immerse themselves in the culture and history of Darmstadt’s sister city. DFL ends match days until the end of the season
The German Football League (DFL) announced the exact times for the remaining matchdays on Friday afternoon (March 27). The home game on matchday 31 against SV Elversberg will take place on Saturday evening (April 25) at 8:30pm. This will be followed by two away games against Karlsruher SC (May 3) and Preußen Münster (May 10), both at 1:30pm. On the final matchday, Darmstadt will host SC Paderborn at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor at 3:30pm. (May 17).
Successful test against Saarbrücken
SV Darmstadt 98 won their friendly match against 1. FC Saarbrücken during the international break. Florian Kohfeldt's team triumphed 4-2 (2-1) at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor, behind closed doors.

Born in Hamburg in 1999 and raised in the Hanseatic city, Patric Pfeiffer's roots lie in Ghana, his mother's homeland. He has now been called up to the Ghanaian national team for the first time, and two special international matches await the SV Darmstadt 98 centre-back: first against Austria (March 27th, 6pm), then against Germany (March 30th, 8:45pm). Before the 26-year-old departs with the West Africans, we arranged an interview with him. A conversation about family and dreams, memories and old acquaintances.
Marseiler suffers cruciate ligament tear
The worst fears have been confirmed: Luca Marseiler suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the home match against FC Schalke 04. The 29-year-old sustained the injury in the 23rd minute without any contact from an opponent. Marseiler will be sidelined for several months. Further treatment and the timing of the surgery will be decided in the coming days.
Lilies test against Saarbrücken
Next Thursday (26.03) at 1pm, SV Darmstadt 98 will play a friendly match against 1. FC Saarbrücken.
Patric Pfeiffer on an international trip
Patric Pfeiffer has been called up to the Ghanaian national team for the first time. The 26-year-old central defender is in the squad for the upcoming friendlies, in which Ghana will first face Austria on Friday (March 27th/6pm) and then Germany on Monday (March 30th/8:45pm).
U21: Young Lilies defeated shortly before the end
A close match ended in a late defeat for SV Darmstadt 98's U21 team. On Saturday (March 21st, 3:00pm), the young Lilies hosted SC Waldgirmes. The two teams are now separated by only one point in the league table, a situation reflected in the course of the game and the final score of 2-1.
