We are very happy that Carlo was able to join us during our training camp, especially at such an early stage. After Paul Will’s departure, it was our intention to fill this position. Carlo has always been an interesting player for us, and he fits our vision for this role very well. He is a strategist, an intelligent player, and also an experienced second-division player who can help us both on and off the pitch.

Of course, we want to get everything sorted out as quickly as possible. It’s now July 20th, and the majority of our squad is set. Naturally, we’re aware of the centre forward position, where we still have work to do. But beyond that, it’s invaluable that all the lads can get to know each other better and work on the team’s strategy.

The striker market moves slowly, but it’s also very competitive. Everyone’s looking for the „jack-of-all-trades.“ (laughs) This often means that several clubs are interested in the same player. We knew early on what kind of profile we needed and that we would take the necessary time to find it. But we also know that the Kiel game is approaching, and we’re currently in some promising discussions. We still want to sign two strikers in total, and I hope we can announce something soon. But some situations require patience.

Anything can happen in a transfer window. You have to be ready to react when you need to. The current focus is on the striker position, but I’m not ruling anything else out yet.

We are still in negotiations with a Spanish club. I can’t say more at the moment. But it remains highly likely that he will leave us.
