Jutta and Wolfgang Arnold: A married couple with Lily fever
“My connection to SV Darmstadt actually started with my father, who still played field handball here in the old stadium,” says current board member Wolfgang Arnold, recalling his first contacts with the Lilies: “But I only really got involved when when our two sons started playing football here. There was no coach for the F youth, but I wanted the two boys to be able to play here. That’s why I said that I was ready to take over the F-Youth.”
Successful stadium festival as part of EURO 2024
In collaboration between the “Lernort Stadion e.V. – Bölle makes education” and SV Darmstadt 98, the “Stadion Europa Youth Festival” took place on May 29th in the Merck Stadium at the Böllenfalltor. In the run-up to the European Football Championship in Germany, it was important to both partners to get young people from Darmstadt and the surrounding area excited about a diverse and democratic Europe in a youth-friendly and fun way and to get them in the right mood for the European Championship in Germany.

The first round of the DFB Cup has been drawn: SV Darmstadt 98 will face FC Teutonia 05 Ottensen away at the start of the new 2024/25 cup season. This was the result of the drawing in the German Football Museum with Nils Petersen and DFB Vice President Peter Frymuth on Saturday (June 1) as part of the ARD sports show.

The SV Darmstadt 98 fan team also has a summer break! The “Zwote” played their last game of the season at FC Ober-Ramstadt II on Tuesday evening (May 28th), which they unfortunately lost 2-4. Nevertheless, the Lilien fan team finished in a good third place in the district league C Darmstadt. After the duel, we took the opportunity to talk to coach Andreas Degenhardt and look at the past and future season with him. He also explains why he is particularly proud to be able to train the second team.

Defensive midfielder Paul Will is now a Lily! On Monday afternoon (May 27th), SV 98 announced the reinforcements: The native of Central Hesse, who is moving from SG Dynamo Dresden to Darmstadt, comes to the Bölle with the experience of 120 third division games and 23 second division games and was previously vice-captain for Dresden. We accompanied the new signing on his first day and also conducted a first interview with the left-footed player.
