Florian Kohfeldt extends contract
SV 98 and Florian Kohfeldt are moving forward together. The 43-year-old has extended his contract with the Lilies.
Paul Fernie: „Since joining us, Flo has ensured that our team has a clear playing style and that many players have been able to take a big step forward. I greatly enjoy the ongoing exchange of ideas with him, and we have already been able to initiate numerous changes within the club together. I am convinced that this process is not yet over and that we can reach the next level together. His will and ambition to drive things forward are palpable in every conversation. I am very much looking forward to our future together and am delighted about the contract extension. Especially since I know that his work has not gone unnoticed elsewhere either.“
Florian Kohfeldt: „I look back very positively on my time in office so far and the progress this club has made during this period. I would particularly like to highlight the developments surrounding the team. The circumstances there are now different than when I started. I have often emphasized how much I enjoy working with Paul Fernie on a daily basis, and the same applies to the entire board and the exchange with Tom Eilers. I sense a complete willingness from everyone involved to consistently continue on the path we have chosen, and I am certain that I can continue to contribute my strengths with full energy. I am happy to be the head coach of the Lilies in the future as well.“
Kohfeldt took over as head coach of SV 98 in September 2024 when they were in 17th place in the table. Since then, he has managed the Lilies in 67 competitive matches. The team from southern Hesse is currently in fifth place.
