Florian Kohfeldt is the new Lilien Coach

SV Darmstadt 98 has a new head coach: Florian Kohfeldt will be in charge of the Lilie's in the future. The 41-year-old will lead his first training session on Monday (09.09/3pm). Martin Heck accompanies him to Darmstadt as assistant coach.

Florian Kohfeldt: „Darmstadt 98 is a professional and well-run club that has achieved very good sporting results in recent years. But I was particularly impressed by how fans and those in charge stuck together even in challenging moments, such as last season. First of all, we have to have a lot of individual discussions and get to know the team. Together we want to ensure that we stabilise ourselves again in terms of sport with courageous football.“

Kohfeldt worked as an assistant coach at SV Werder Bremen from 2014 to 2016, and from 2017 to 2021 he held the position of head coach at SVW. Further posts in his coaching career included VfL Wolfsburg and the Belgian first division team KAS Eupen. The Siegen native will be officially introduced on Monday (September 9th) at 11am as part of a joint press conference.

The SV Darmstadt 98 U21 team failed to secure any points away at SV Weidenhausen on Saturday (March 28th/3pm). Despite leading at halftime and putting in a strong effort, they ultimately suffered a narrow 2-1 defeat.

DFL ends match days until the end of the season

The German Football League (DFL) announced the exact times for the remaining matchdays on Friday afternoon (March 27). The home game on matchday 31 against SV Elversberg will take place on Saturday evening (April 25) at 8:30pm. This will be followed by two away games against Karlsruher SC (May 3) and Preußen Münster (May 10), both at 1:30pm. On the final matchday, Darmstadt will host SC Paderborn at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor at 3:30pm. (May 17).

Marseiler suffers cruciate ligament tear

The worst fears have been confirmed: Luca Marseiler suffered a torn cruciate ligament in the home match against FC Schalke 04. The 29-year-old sustained the injury in the 23rd minute without any contact from an opponent. Marseiler will be sidelined for several months.
