+++ From Japan to Canada +++

Summer break = vacation time! Time to travel. Time to relax. Time to explore. And the Darmstadt professionals have spread out across numerous continents. While Hiroki Akiyama and Yosuke Furukawa have returned to their Asian homeland of Japan, Marcel Schuhen is currently on the North American continent. „We’re traveling through Canada in a camper van for three weeks,“ the Darmstadt captain emphasises: „Lots of nature, lots of time with family.“ The goalkeeper is also trying his hand at photography and sharing his experiences with his followers on Instagram, regularly participate in impressive photos. „I even bought a camera specifically to capture the moments,“ said Schuhen.

We’re continuing our journey south. Killian Corredor is relaxing in Central America – more precisely, in Mexico. Kai Klefisch, Sergio Lopez, Matej Maglica, and Raoul Petretta, on the other hand, have opted for shorter trips and are spending their summer holidays in Europe. Wherever you are right now: We wish all the Darmstadt players a wonderful holiday!

P.S.: We’ll see you all back at the Bölle in just over a week! On June 25th, SV Darmstadt 98 will begin their 2026 summer preseason training with medical checks and various performance diagnostics. The first training session will then take place on Sunday (June 28th) in the Odenwald region. The session is open to the public. More information is available here.

“I’m doing great,” Noah Weißhaupt emphasised, clearly in good spirits, at the start of his first interview as a Darmstadt player. The 24-year-old has made a permanent transfer from SC Freiburg to SV Darmstadt 98, making him the club’s first signing for the 2026/27 season. Regarding Darmstadt, he said: “It’s a very family-oriented club, which immediately won me over.” Looking ahead to the upcoming season, he added: “I want to show what I’m capable of!” You can see the full interview with Darmstadt’s new number seven on the official website SV 98 YouTube Channel.

+++ Legends team in double action +++

Summer break? Not a chance! The SV Darmstadt 98 veterans team is busy on the region’s sports fields. And they have two matches this coming weekend. The Lilies legends will compete on Friday evening (June 19th) at 6pm in the small-field tournament hosted by SV Hammelbach (address: Thorweg 45, 64689 Grasellenbach). The 98ers‘ veterans team continues their campaign on Sunday (June 21st) when they travel to KSG Brandau to celebrate their 80th anniversary. Kick-off is at 3 pm (address: Römerberg 33, 64397 Modautal). We wish the veterans team and all spectators a great time!

+++ Nothing tangible for SAFC +++

No points for San Antonio FC. The SV 98 affiliate team suffered only their second defeat of the USL Championship season last Sunday (June 14th) on Matchday 14. The Texans lost 2-0 away to Lexington SC. Nevertheless, SAFC remains top of the table with 21 points. Their next opportunity to pick up points comes next Thursday (June 25th, 2:00am CET) in their away match against Switchbacks FC.

A second-division team on the Berlin Mount Olympus: Hannover 96 achieved something unique in 1992.
