Intensive Week of Friendlies | Media Day at the Bölle
Friendly matches, fundraising campaigns, and plenty of photos—that’s what the week looked like for SV 98 and the club’s community. Between their 5–1 victory over FC Homburg and the upcoming friendly in Walldorf this Friday (July 17), the „Lilies“ showed their best side for the cameras. In addition, the SV 98 legends team will face an Odenwald select squad on Sunday (July 19th). You can also win great prizes in competitions taking place in Erbach and at the pop-up store in downtown Darmstadt. Lilies Across the Board brings you all the latest news from life at SV 98.
+++ Please Smile! +++
On Wednesday (July 15th), SV 98 players, coaches, and staff stepped in front of the camera for numerous photo and video shoots. After the team photo and individual portraits on the pitch, the „Lilies“ moved through several stations within the stadium. In addition to the Bundesliga, various partners were also present with their own stations.

+++ Familiar faces and a good cause +++
As part of the Erbach Wiesenmarkt, the SV Darmstadt 98 legends team will face an Odenwald Over-40 select team on Sunday (July 19) at 6pm. The match will take place on the artificial turf pitch at the Erbach Sports Park. This sporting event also aims to support the work of the „Odenwald hilft“ association. The initiative has been dedicated to helping people in need within the Odenwald district since 2022 and hopes to raise further funds for its aid programs during the event.
In addition, our mobile fan shop will be on-site on Sunday. Along with special Odenwald merchandise, you will also have the chance to enter a prize draw. Prizes include home match tickets and jerseys, among other items.
The Odenwald has always been part of our roots and identity in southern Hesse.
+++ Signed anniversary shirt for SGA youth players +++
Sportgemeinschaft Arheilgen is auctioning off a special piece of memorabilia from its anniversary year: an official SGA anniversary T-shirt signed by the squads of both SGA and SV Darmstadt 98. SGA President Thomas Stetz collected the autographs following his club’s anniversary match against the „Lilien“ (July 4th). While the SGA players signed the front, the signatures of the Lilien professionals and head coach Florian Kohfeldt appear on the back.
Fittingly for the club’s 150th anniversary, the minimum bid for the size L shirt is 150 euros. Bids can be submitted via email to sga@sg-arheilgen.de until August 29, 2026. The highest bid will win the auction. All proceeds will benefit SGA’s youth programs and go toward funding a new floodlight system. This initiative aims to create additional training opportunities that will particularly benefit the youth teams.
+++GIVEAWAY: 5 x 2 tickets for the match against Kiel! +++
Here’s how you can win: Visit the pop-up store at Luisenplatz between July 14 and July 19 and purchase the new Lilien home jersey. With your purchase, you will receive a unique entry code, which you can then send to us—along with your email address—via our WhatsApp channel.
The draw will take place on July 20th, and the winner will be notified by email. With a bit of luck, you could win two tickets to the season’s first home match against Holstein Kiel. Good luck!
+++ Together for Ingo: Jersey raffle raises 1,000 euros +++
A total of 1,000 euros was raised for Ingo Dörsam through a raffle for a jersey signed by the SV Darmstadt 98 team, held as part of the „Scheeserenne in Winterkasten“ event. The former amateur footballer from the Odenwald region has been paraplegic since a tragic workplace accident. By donating the jersey, SV 98 supported a joint fundraising appeal launched by SV Winterkasten, SV Lörzenbach, SG Wald-Michelbach, and FC Fürth.
+++ Furu Celebrates! +++
Otanjoubi omedetou gozaimasu! That is the Japanese way of saying „Happy Birthday.“
Our winger wearing number 44 celebrates his 23rd birthday on Thursday (July 16th). The Japanese native from Ōtsu joined the „Lilies“ from the Polish top-flight club Górnik Zabrze on June 19th, 2025, and has since recorded two goals in 14 appearances for the team.
+++ Former 'Lily' player passes away +++
SV Darmstadt 98 mourns the loss of Markus Beierle. The former striker passed away on Monday at the age of just 54. Beierle played for the „Lilies“ from 2005 to 2007 before retiring from professional football. Our thoughts are with his family and friends. SV 98 will always cherish the memory of Markus Beierle.
