The training session at the SV Winterkasten grounds (Außerhalb 3, 64678 Lindenfels) is open to the public, and spectators are warmly welcome. It starts at 3pm, and admission is free. This training session not only marks the beginning of preseason training but also the start of SV 98’s increased presence in the Odenwald region. With various activities and events, SV 98 aims to connect even more closely with the people of the region in the coming months and further strengthen its ties to the Odenwald.
The first friendly match is scheduled for July 4th: At 1pm, SV 98 will play a match celebrating their 150th anniversary against SG Arheilgen. Another friendly is scheduled for July 11th against VfR Fehlheim (kick-off 3pm). Three days later (July 14th), the team from southern Hesse will host the Regionalliga side FC Homburg at the Merck Stadium at Böllenfalltor. Kick-off is at 6pm.
SV 98 will play their fourth and final friendly before departing for their training camp on July 17th against fourth-division side FC-Astoria Walldorf (kick-off 6pm).
This year, the Lilies‘ training camp will once again take place in the Allgäu region. From July 19th to 26th, the team will be based in Bad Wörishofen. As in previous years, they will be staying at the Parkhotel Residence, and training will take place at the FC Bad Wörishofen grounds. Two friendly matches are planned during the training camp; further information will follow shortly.
Together with the fans, the team and coaching staff will kick off the new season on August 1st at the Merck Stadium with the traditional season opening event. This day will also see the final pre-season friendly before the start of the 2. Bundesliga season: The opponent for this final friendly will be announced soon.
The first competitive match in the 2. Bundesliga will take place on the weekend of August 7th to 9th.
